Rule 29
Children's Health

(1) The child correctional home shall conduct a complete health examination of the children within one month of their admission to the child correctional home. (2) According to sub-rule (1), if the doctor recommends treatment during the health examination, the child correctional home shall make arrangements for the treatment as recommended by the doctor.
(3) Children's correctional homes should conduct regular health examinations of children according to their age and condition.
(4) Children's health report before being admitted to the Children's Correctional Home: Child: If available to the correctional home, if a medical examination is required by a doctor as mentioned in the description, the child correctional home shall show the doctor and administer the necessary medication.
(5) Details of treatment according to sub-rules (1), (2), (3) and (4) should be mentioned in the personal details of the respective children.
(6) If there is any suspicion of infection of a communicable disease in the Children's Correctional Home, the Children's Correctional Home shall arrange treatment according to the advice of the nearest government hospital or physician.
(7) If the children need to be admitted to the hospital or taken to the hospital, the children's correctional home should make arrangements for taking them to and from the hospital and for the children to stay with the patients. In this way, while arranging the Kuruwa, in the case of the girl child, the female Kuruwa will have to be arranged.
(8) If any child is infected with a communicable disease such as HIV AIDS, hepatitis, the child correctional home should make arrangements to keep them safe in separate rooms to protect other children from such infections.
(9) If information is received from the doctor that any child has a disease as per sub-rule (8), the relevant juvenile court shall be informed through the probation officer and arrangements shall be made to take the necessary safety measures.
